I am Barbara Losito and I have a long-time experience as a teacher of foreign languages and translator into English, French and German. I’ve got a Foreign languages and Literatures degree and during my studies at the University of Bari, I carried out activities related to my knowledge and linguistic skills as a consecutive interpreter of languages at International Trade Fairs and tourist guide in Apulia.
I worked as Foreign Markets Specialist for about fifteen years within large international companies such as Natuzzi Spa, N. e. w. s. Srl, Pennelli Veicoli Industriali, dealing with translations of technical handbooks or business letters, taking part at international trade fairs improving my language skills in English, French and German. Since 2014 I have been working as a freelancer cooperating as a translator with many foreign translation agencies. I started my activity in a coworking area Impact-hub where I developed several partnerships with communication agencies translating different websites for them. Since 2018 I have been working as a language trainer for several professional training companies such as IFOA, Pugliaform, Woom Italia, Cnipa Puglia, IOR Languages, also teaching in some public institutions such as ” I. I. S. S. Pertini Anelli”, I.T.E.T “Marco Polo”, I.T.E.T De Viti De Marco, I.I.S.S. Giulio Cesare carrying out language lessons in attendance or remotely.

In the course of time each single language course has been customized, from English customization which means “make or change based on a user’s personal requests”. For each language it is possible to develop a course of a specific area. Group lessons are held, for individual students in attendance or remotely through different tools.
TRANSLATION
I have been making translations from English, French, German into Italian and viceversa of

PROOFREADING
is more detailed, not limited to the syntactic–grammatical aspect, but also to the terminological and stylistic, in order to provide an improved text in all its areas. I also take care of comparing the translated text with the source text in order to ensure that there are no omissions or mistakes in the content evaluation and interpretation.
POST-Editing
post-editing is a revision by a professional translator of a translation carried out by a so-called machine Translation (Mt), that is, a machine translation system. The level of service changes depending on the purpose of the text. We generally talk about:
SWORN TRANSLATION
Sworn translation is almost always required for diplomas, certificates, as well for legal acts, contracts, letters of engagement, and in general in all cases in which it is necessary to have an official certification from the translator about the conformity of the translated text to what is reported in the original text. A certification is therefore a sworn translation. Sworn translations are made at the court by signing a oath statement.
